Approximately 21 kilometers off Malay Peninsular’s eastern coast and of Kuala Besut, you can find the two heavenly islands of Perhentian Kecil (small) and Perhentian Besar (large). They were frequented by merchants and traders travelling through the waterways, due to which it was named “one stop island”. Since then, the islands have become a part of “Terengganu Marine Park”, which houses a wide variety of coral, reef fish and various other marine creatures. Several quickly accessible diving sites are also located near the island.
